Finsbury park 38-47 Actonians

A short 5 minute travel down the road for a rearranged “away” game at Wasps FC due to Finsbury Park pitch issues. It provided A’s with some bonus supporters

Actonians faced off against Finsbury park a team the As have played many times and always have a war against.

Actonians played well from the start with big carries that took A’s into the Finsbury half scoring early to go up by 7. But Finsbury who always play with heart and never stop working come back quickly to bring the score back level.

The game continues like this for most of the game going back and forth.

Dangerous plays from winger JT and Tom Knight controlling the back line extend the lead as the game goes on. However through Finsbury Park’s gritted determination, combined with some big mistakes from Actonians, it brought the score back within only a 2 pt lead for Actonians.

In the dying minutes of the game Actonians manage to pull a victory out of the jaws of defeat and score 2 tries in the last 5 mins of the game bringing the final score to 38-47 to A’s placing them 3rd ,10pts above 4th place in the table and only 7pts from the league leaders.

Standing Actonians in a very strong position as we near the halfway point of the season

Happy to report that Dan Cussons’s facial hair has started to re-grow which is a relief to the team and Tug our resident photographer however it does mean he has lost his lookalike booking for the sloth from Goonies.
